Supporting Democracy

Back in 2003, Kraisorn Prasert exhibited a piece of art to honour democracy. His inspiration came from a Buddhist custom of supporting a tree with posts. Kraisorn used 71 supporting sticks, each 7 metres in length, and then invited the public to draw on them in order to celebrate the 71st anniversary of the shift of government power from monarchy to democracy in 1932.
